Finally, iPhone Makes its Way to India
After making its debut one year ago in the US, the iPhone 4 was launched in India for the first time on Friday. The sleeker, sharper and thinner design promises its users longer talk time, 10 hours of video and nearly 40 hours of music playback. It’s a phone like no other, so it’s no surprise that leading Indian phone companies Aircel and Airtel launched the iPhone 4 simultaneously.
India is the world’s second biggest mobile phone market, but smartphones only make 5% of phone sales. These phones can be considered rather pricey, which is why both Airtel and Aircel are offering similar phone plans making iPhone in India most affordable than ever.
An upfront payment of Rs. 34,500 will purchase you a 16GB iPhone. The new pricing plans will allow customers to have their upfront costs reimbursed from monthly credits provided by their phone services over a period of 24 months.
Aircel Director, Sandip Das states: “We are very proud to bring iPhone 4 to Aircel customers in India”. These affordable pricing plans are all an attempt to increase the number of customers purchasing an iPhone. And with all the cool new features, it will be hard to resist.
